Path to Pike's Bridge

This is an image from my childhood. Follow this path. You'll come to Pike's bridge. A place I communed with nature as a boy summering in West Newbury, MA.
From this vantage, behind you is Indian Hill. It was a strange place. A place that my brother and I called, "The Burnt Castel."
This was an old mansion. Burned, but people stilled lived there. Like something out of a Poe novel.
Odd, the green in the back field. No one thinks it's real. It is. Fresh new rye grass. Planted late.

Ok here is another Mass College Of Art Benefit Auction show stopper. I love this event. Each year you never know what to expect. Anthony has been invited to submit work every year since it's inception. Quite an honor. I have my favorite artist that I follow and look forward to see what they have prepared for the Auction. On this particular year my sister Kathy became involved in a bidding war over this piece and she did not intend on loosing. She loves to show boat. My whole family loves Anthony's work as they are used to seeing so much of it in my home. Now they have all become collectors. Anywho, this piece hangs in my home as well. My sister moved to the tropics and was worried about the humidity. I told her it would be fine. However, she left it to me as caretaker. How lucky am I!

I am glad you mentioned that patch of green green grass. I had mentioned to you that people had thought it didn't belong or maybe you didn't get the color right. Your retort was perfect, odd colors and odd scenery do occur in nature. This is exactly as it looked. I grew up in West Newbury so it's no wonder I am so drawn to your realistic portrayal of my home...Craig
